Emotions & Problem Solving

Answer questions about characters in the story to practice labeling and describing emotions as well as perspective taking. Use problem solving skills to answer questions about alternative solutions to problems and solve hypothetical situations.

Figurative Language & Vocabulary

Each passage contains an idiom related to the theme. Identify the meaning of the idiom from the options. Additionally, challenging vocabulary words are listed for targeted practice.

Comprehension and WH Questions

For each story, five WH questions are provided in order to target auditory comprehension, recall, etc. . Additionally, two inference questions are provided to probe details that are not directly listed in the passage.
