This articulation game puts a twist on classic playing cards! Each card has different targets to offer great practice during each game!

Description

After struggling to find articulation materials to use with some of my older students, I created this standard card deck and adapted it for articulation practice.

If you’re sick of coming up with card games to play with the same old artic card decks, or playing board games while reading from word lists – this is a perfect alternative.

This deck contains the 52 cards of a standard card deck. Each card contains a written articulation target (no pictures!) for each of the following 5 sounds: R, S, L, TH, SH/CH

R (13 initial, 13 medial, 13 final, 13 recurring)
S (13 initial, 13 medial, 13 final, 13 recurring)
L (13 initial, 13 medial, 13 final, 13 L blends)
TH (13 initial, 13 medial, 13 final, 13 voiced TH)
SH (13 initial, 13 medial, 13 final, 13 CH)

I should add that the vocabulary used in these sets is a bit higher than what I would typically put on articulation cards. You won’t see the same articulation words we often see used over and over! I did this intentionally, with the older age group in mind. But, you can still use it with younger kids and target vocab as well!

Simply set up your game of choice and have the students practice their words from each card as they play. You can use the same deck for all of the above sounds.

This deck will allow you to play more challenging card games with your students – euchre, hearts, spades, rummy, you name it!

*As a bonus, I have included instructions for a Kiwi game I played as a kid, for something new!
