This quick and easy activity is perfect for students developing phonological awareness skills in the following areas:
Phoneme Identification: What sound do you hear at the beginning/middle/end of the word?
-10 cards / 10 words (students will ID the sounds in initial, medial, and final positions of each word)
Syllable Segmentation: How many syllables are in this word?
-10 cards / 30 words
-1-3 syllable words
Sentence Segmentation: How many words are in this sentence?
-10 cards / 10 novel sentences/phrases
-2-4 word sentences/phrases

There are 10 different cards for each of the following skills. Each card includes a stimulus picture on the front, and visuals on the back to help with teaching the skill.

Students will look (or hear, in sentence segmentation) the stimulus, place paperclips / pegs / clips, etc. on the correct answers, and then can FLIP the card over to check their answers.
